Brandon, passed on nice high six point, holding out for a big one. Al was just down the spine, in his stand and this big ole brute was down below them on a doe. She came up, and the buck was thrashing saplings and briers trying to get to the top of the ridge where she went. He made it finally, Als heart was a pounding, the buck came with in range and he released, the string hit his arm, made a loud noise, the arrow hit, the buck took off, he thought he heard it fall, and then he waited two hours before tracking. Alot of prayers and then, there Thrasher lay, in a log jam. Relief is not the word really. Pure happiness. You can ask Al about the incidents that led up to this senerio. He was estatic to connect on this Thrasher Buck. We were a little hesitant at first because we try to stay away from canned or guided hunts. When we learned it was a lease in the archery only counties of West Virginia, we were all over it. The opportunity to harvest a world class whitetail is well within the realm of reality on Davids ground at Almost Heaven Outfitters. We were truly in the presence of some real giants. The Whitetail Underdogs team had a few close encounters, but we had the misfortune of only being there for 3 days. Had we spent a week or more at Almost Heaven, there is no doubt in my mind afew of us would have connected.
